Gateway Motel

Clean sheets, hot shower, and good people. Ok. Now the details. This isn’t a 4 Star Hotel so get that out of your mind. That being said, the staff are friendly, the room was clean, shower was hot, and there’s chairs out front to relax outside. The staff were hiker friendly, and seemed to be interested in making sure my room was good. Laundry is available. I’d stay again if in area. Thanks

We were hiking on the AT and desperately needed a water refill after finding out going NOBO the Leroy Smith Shelter springs were BONE DRY. Stopped at Gateway Motel. If there is anything as overly hospitable, that is Satish! He was SO VERY friendly and accommodating. Offered us not only free water, but FREE showers, laundry and charge devices. He was booked but said if there was a room available, we could snooze for a couple hours for free. Even offered free tent camping on the lawn. Satish also offered us Indian chocolates! AND even offered dog food for our little pooch! Like permanent trail magic, Satish and Gateway Motel were very much appreciated.

By far the best motel I’ve ever stayed at, and that’s all thanks to the kindness of Satish. He’s particularly supportive of AT hikers and went out of his way to get a free meal for me. Can’t recommend this place enough…

This is a favorite rest spot for me. They have flexible short and long term rentals, and I believe a few apartments. The staff is always busy and helpful while the rooms are perfectly adequate.

I am an AT through hiker and Gateway Motel is a common stopping place for hikers. Satish, the owner, was so kind to us. He welcomed us with open arms, let us use his restrooms, refill on water, and eat lunch at the front of the building. He also treated me to a soda and chicken sandwich. He is a very down to earth man and made our day with his kindness. I did not stay in the rooms but the service spoke for itself. Thank you Satish!!!!

Awesome location for a motel, being an Appalachian Trail hiker it was VERY convenient and town was easily accessible. A great place to stay & rest. Allyson runs a good establishment, the place is safe, clean and comfortable. There is a great TV in the room, a refrigerator, huge shower and there is a microwave in a space just off the office. I am glad I stayed here, it was a great value for a relaxing night off Trail. Thanks!

Clean and comfortable, newly renovated. Everything is new: windows and doors, ac, beds and furniture, new bathrooms, tv, mini fridge, fresh paint and flooring. Manager Satish is very nice and extremely helpful to guests, especially hikers. Walking distance from Appalachian Trail and town. Close to highway, but not noisy. No shady people, and has security cameras on the exterior and in the parking lot. I had a great stay here.

I just checked in last night and wanted to wait until the morning to write a review, going through a bit of a rough time and the gateway has been the light at the end of the tunnel, me and my girlfriend checked in last night at 10PM very much so after hours but the woman we spoke to on the phone was more then accommodating having their maintenance man come out and show us the room before checking in, upon getting ready to pay we didn’t know about the fee so we needed to run and get cash he was very patient with us while we ran to the atm for the cash, very nice guy and a very painless process, alot of these reviews have more complaints then good I read them 100x before calling, and if your like me in that aspect and need someone to reassure you let me be the first my room is honestly amazing I haven’t slept so good in I don’t know how long I can’t even really say I have any complaints the only issue I can think of is the tile on the bathroom floor being cold mind you it’s about 20 degrees out so if that’s my only complaint this place has hit every single mark possible. Come give them a chance and be highly surprised especially if your local and have heard stories, the least I can say is this is most definitely highly highly improved.

Excellent independent motel in Wind Gap PA with cute rooms and kind staff! Perfect for out of towners going to late night events at The Gap Theatre.

Right off the A.T., great place to stay, owners very nice to hikers, we got off the trail early and she let us check in early. Laundry on site. Short walk to town for dinner.
